This assesses how well you understood and interacted with an appropriate number and quality of references. Unless specified there is no minimum number of references required in a paper, however, the marker will be looking for a clear indication that you have read and understood appropriate literature for the topic. For assignments where references are not required, markers allocate an average mark for the assignment as a whole.

Knowledge

Did you demonstrate that you understood the topic of the assignment and answered the specific question asked? Is the information you’ve presented relevant to the topic? Did you stay focused on the assignment question?

Articulation

This area is about how well you make your case in answering the question. Is what you wrote logical, organised and coherent? Have you provided clear evidence for your statements? Is your conclusion based on the argument that you have made? At advanced levels have you demonstrated imagination, originality, and independent thought.

Analytical and Reflective Skills

This criterion is about you evaluating, interpreting and scrutinising information relevant to your topic. Is your use of external literature insightful? Have you incorporated facts in an appropriate way? Are your reflections on specific information thought through and considered? For a reflective assignment, these analytic skills are brought to your own experiences.

Presentation

Expression and Presentation appropriate to the Discipline. Have you used appropriate punctuation, spelling, grammar, referencing conventions, formatting, and all other ACOM stylistic requirements?
